After passing CPA exam in Japan, Mukaiyama engaged in human resource development in finance and accounting field as lecturer for managerial and financial accounting at Ohara Accounting School. He has been practiced as professional accountant for more than 15 years since then. He worked on statutory and voluntary (group) audit engagements, etc. with Japanese and foreign companies mainly in the manufacturing sector during the time of PW Japan. In addition, he established Minato Accounting Firm with other four CPAs and provided mainly medium sized companies including venture businesses with a variety of services, such as financial advisory, advisory and practical support on development of accounting and budgeting system, preparation of financial statements in Independent Administrative Corporation and enterprise reconstruction, valuation, financial and internal audit, management testing of internal control based on SOX as well as tax service over 8 years.
During overseas assignment, he worked on coordination of all the services lines, i.e. tax, assurance and advisory services, supporting for green and brown field investments and practice development with Japanese companies at PwC Belgium and Turkey.
In PwC Belgium, he worked in Hungary and Czech Republic as well as Belgium. Also in PwC Turkey, he acquired a good sense of flexibility against and well understood the differences of business environment and behavior, and laws and regulations in between emerging countries and developed countries, which are essential to work in developing countries as well.
Since 2012, mainly as expert for JICA technical cooperation project and Senior Industrial Advisor/ Financial Specialist for EBRD EGP(Enterprise Growth Programme), he has been providing services making the most of his broad experiences to projects in public financial management and private sector development in developing countries, such as Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kirgizstan in Central Asia, Myanmar and Laos in South East Asia, Mongolia in East Asia and Vladivostok in Far East Russia so far. |
