While at Yamato International Inc., he was assigned to its office in Kampala, the Republic of Uganda as Chief Representative and completed the vertical integration of production facility i.e. spinning, knitting, dyeing and cutting/sewing under one roof, and made the supply of uniforms for primary and secondary school children more stable, without much reliant on the foreign exchange to purchase raw materials from other countries. After joining Truspire, he was seconded to the same textile company in Uganda as General Manager to vigorously promote its export program with T-shirts and underwear mainly for babies and children, fully exploiting the local resources of organic cotton developed and grown in Uganda, which attracted a lot of interest among the internationally well-known apparel companies and Non-Profit Organizations in respect of ‘Go Green’ production certified by Eco-Cert in France. Due to its high international recognition, the Gold medal was awarded to the company by Uganda Export Promotion Council under Ministry of Trade, in Uganda. Thereafter, he was engaged in the One Village One Product promotion project in Ethiopia by JICA right from the start in 2010 until 2014, for 5 years, 30 months in total and supported the business development activities initiated by the farmers’ groups in the rural area for product development, business plan, marketing, organizing B2B business matching, and training to the farmers’ groups in these areas. In the Republic of Kenya, being one of the project members for Trade Training project by JICA, he designed and conducted the trade training courses in Nairobi and other cities in Kenya for SMEs in the area of product development, production and quality control aiming to promote their export business mainly to the neighboring countries and business interactions with Japan, India, etc. Besides Africa, he has also experience in Southeast Asia, as lecturer in charge of Operation/Production management at the MBA course jointly organized between Lao-Japan Human Resource Development Institute (LJI) and National University of Lao (NUOL) from 2009 till now.
